Early Career

Hospitality Management Degree

1996 - 2001

I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management from the University of Massachusetts. Aside from taking business courses including marketing, my studies had a strong emphasis on good service to the public.

Graphic and Web Design for Artists in Paducah

2004 - 2008

In Paducah, KY was my first encounter with design. I lived surrounded by artists and started designing business cards, postcards, brochures and websites to promote their work.

Downtown Paducah

2007 - 2009

Branching out from my work for artists, I started working with the Paducah Renaissance Alliance and the Paducah Visitor Bureau creating advertising and promotional campaigns.

Move to Frederick

Digital Media Design Degree

2008 - 2010

In Frederick, I received an Associates degree from the Frederick Community College to improve my design skills.

AIGA Social Outreach and Web Chair

2010 - 2014

I volunteered to help our local AIGA Chapter with their website and social media presence.

Freelance Designer at Aynex Designs

2010 - 2014

As a freelance web and graphic designer, I had the opportunity to work with a variety of business from entrepreneurs to universities.

2011 - 2012

I gave back to the community by offering my services free to local non-profit organizations thru Volunteer Frederick.

It was an immense honor to be the second alumni to be selected for this award at Frederick Community College.

2014 - 2025

I worked as a UX Designer for the National Center for Biotechnology Information and the National Cancer Institute, both part of the National Health Institute.

2020-2024

I layed out the newsletter for the DE / DC / WV chapter of the Studio Art Quilt Association combining the art of quilting with my love for typography.

DC Modern Quilt Guild Vice President

2022 - 2024

I was responsible for the communication between all the members that live all around the DMV and also helped with the planning of our events.

Frederick Quilt Series

2021 - 2024

My love for this town pushed me to create a series of quilts depicting its architecture and has been exhibited all around Maryland.

We often don’t realize how our life experiences prepare us for what comes next. As I reflected on how to best showcase my skills, I was pleasantly surprised to see how every step in my journey has aligned perfectly with this opportunity.
